In previous posts, we discussed the purpose of meditation and how to do it. After an introduction, this audio leaves about five minutes for you to meditate in silence. Feel free to meditate longer, if you feel so moved.
Just five minutes of inner quietude each day can change everything. Any time is a good time to meditate. You might try sitting in silence right before you go to sleep at night or just when you wake up in the morning. Enjoy!

Thank you, thank you, thank you. Sometimes I struggle to find the discipline to sit and meditate even for just a few minutes each day. (Ironic, I know.) Guided meditations like this are a wonderful way of gently reminding me of the benefits of practice.
You are most welcome, Michael. We all need a little help from our friends now and then
I wish you endless benefits from your practice.
Sending love,
Gail
Hi Gail.
I went ahead and gave this a try. It was a bit harder than I thought. I had loads of thoughts coming into my mind during the 5 minutes. I had thoughts I hadn’t had in a long while as well. It sure was hard to not let the thought contraction occur. 5 minutes can be a really long time.
It sure was relaxing, though.
I applaud you for trying the meditation, Armen! Fascinating that you would find it both hard and relaxing.
For people not used to sitting in quiet, it is common for the thoughts to come flooding in. Sometimes they are extraneous mind chatter, but once in a while some brilliant stroke of creativity comes through from the silence.
The thoughts aren’t a problem. It’s interesting to see how much energy they have. You can simply let them come and bring your attention back to the breath or hearing. The idea is to allow everything and see what is actually happening in our inner world. Sounds like you made some interesting discoveries!
And a special thank-you to you for noticing the error in the recording I posted.
Hi Gail!
This was wonderful! It’s just the brief time-out I needed this evening. I’d like to put it as a “note” on my desk top.
Your voice is soothing and gentle, like a caring friend I’ve known for years.
Thank you,
Wonderful to hear from you, Jean! When we speak from the heart, we meet in the place of oneness - at some level, so familiar. It’s home. No wonder it feels like we’ve known each other for years….
Love and Love….
