To begin your process of getting unstuck, please send me an email at gail AT aflourishinglife DOT com.

Seeking help is a virtue. When you ask for it, you will see that it is everywhere you look, in infinite supply. If you experience being stuck - wanting to find your way, but still not getting to the bottom of it - read, practice, listen, find a teacher, or share with a true friend on the path. Do whatever it takes to discover your radiant life. You only have this precious moment.

I am available to meet by phone or by skype to lovingly support you to investigate ways you somehow keep yourself entangled in a self-sabotaging habit and to joyously celebrate with you as you see the insights that allow you to be free of it. The habit might be an unhealthy behavior such as overeating, a problem in how you interact with others, general dissatisfaction or lack of fulfillment in life, or an inner experience of depression, anxiety, or anger. It may be a world view you hold that limits your creativity and self-expression.

Our inquiry will involve seeing the pattern fully, including how you unintentionally project beliefs from past events onto present circumstances. Eventually, there is a moment when the pattern drops away and never arises again with quite the same strength, offering you the space to be peaceful and happy. When old habits begin to dissolve, you may find that you relate differently to people and situations in your life. I can walk with you as the effect of your discoveries expands into daily life.

I love speaking with people as a guide in this process. We may meet once, on occasion, or regularly as needed. Together we question and explore to get down to the subtle core of the problem and discover the possibility of a new way of living - fresh, light, and unencumbered by the past.

Testimonials

“I like very much how you stay with what people express in the group and go deeper with it if you are called to.  Your spaciousness and non-judgment make for a secure and nest like reflective space.”
~Self-inquiry group member

“I think your way of accepting all that was offered and all that was shared without judgment was essential in honoring everyone’s place and progress and ability for their ‘true self’ to emerge. I truly am learning from your ability to verbalize your thoughts and ideas with such loving intent, and appreciate your wonderful spirit.”
~Self-inquiry group member

“I appreciated your clear and gentle approach with each evening’s focus, and you were always so supportive of our efforts and responses.  I never imagined that life’s most difficult challenge, to find freedom in each moment, could be so available to my understanding.  The clear and simple practice of being tender and merciful with ourselves in each moment, of finding peace and love in each moment, was a profound experience.”
~Self-inquiry group member

“I wanted to take a moment to thank you so very much for your expert handling of our most recent resident situation.  Your skillful way of communicating with the resident and the care you showed to ensure his feeling of being heard diffused a very difficult situation. We are very fortunate to work with you, and our residents are so well served by your efforts and professionalism.”
~Laurie Yttri, NHA, Executive Director, Vista del Monte Retirement Community

“Staff who have had counseling experience especially liked the time to share and reflect on counseling skills. One of these staff members told me it was the best training she has attended at CCRC. Staff who have had family consultation, but not specifically counseling, experience welcomed your insights into the process.  Some especially helpful things that were mentioned:  basic information about underlying assumptions of counseling; communication fundamentals (especially discussion on rapport); distinctions between mirroring vs active listening vs interactive discussion; role play. All in all, your training in basic counseling skills was a very positive experience for us.”
~Mary Sheridan,  MFT, Director, Coast Caregivers Resource Center

“It was so good to have you here to talk about counseling issues and concerns. I appreciated the modeling you did by setting up confidentiality guidelines at the outset. Reminding us that our work is solution oriented and the client will let us know the “ideal” solution in her/his response to the question, “What do you want?” In addition, it is always good to remind ourselves and the client that the client is doing the best she/he possibly can, at this moment.
